A Balcombe Place Wedding – Megan & Brad’s Country House Wedding.
As a Balcombe Place wedding photographer I am so excited to share some images from Megan & Brad’s gorgeous country house wedding last summer.
So, if you’ve not been there before, Balcombe Place is nestled in the Sussex countryside, and it’s lovely! The team there are all really friendly and helpful and whilst it feels grand and impressive it also has a laid back and relaxed vibe. If you’re looking for a luxury private hire country house venue for your wedding then definitely check Balcombe Place out!
Balcombe Place is a bit of a hidden gem in West Sussex, not too far from Brighton. It has amazing large grounds perfect for lawn games, cocktail hour and a sunset reception to live music and this is exactly what Megan & Brad did! Embracing that chilled out, luxe weekend wedding vibe Megan & Brad’s Balcombe Place wedding was a goodie!
Thank you to the lovely Helen Cawte Photography for having me a long to this beaut of a day to second shoot. Here’s how the day unfolded:

Sussex Wedding Photographer.
Balcombe Place is a Grade II listed building beautifully renovated to keep that old mansion feel with a few modern touches. I loved the interior design and big windows that allowed for plenty of light. As a Sussex Wedding Photographer it was a lovely venue to photograph at with its breathtaking views of the South Downs and its elegant period architecture.
From the moment you step into the entrance hall through the stone arch porch and huge wooden door to the golden-hour couple portraits on the beautiful lawns, every corner of Balcombe Place presents a picturesque and welcoming setting for capturing your day unfold around you.

The Light Filled Bedrooms of Balcombe Place.
The light-filled bedrooms of Balcombe Place provided a relaxed and classy space for groom preparations, making for some lovely getting-ready shots with natural light streaming through the grand windows.
I started the day with Brad in one of Balcombe Place’s beautiful bedrooms before Brad and his groomsmen made their way down the grand staircase to meet and greet the guests arriving.

A Balcombe Place Wedding Ceremony.
Megan & Brad exchanged their vows in Balcombe Place’s Drawing Room in front of an incredible marble fireplace, with its intricate carvings and dressed in florals it provided the perfect dreamy atmosphere for their guests to take their seats. Megan entered with her dad through the double doors before she met an emotional Brad at the front of the aisle. After saying I do Megan and Brad walked down the aisle together and out through the grand double doors leading to the South Lawn Path that was the perfect spot for a confetti moment.

Champagne & Canopes on the lawn.
Whether the reception is held in the elegant indoor spaces or outside on the lawn, Balcombe Place provides a versatile setting for everyone to celebrate. As a Balcombe Place Wedding Photographer I loved photographing Megan & Brad’s drinks reception on the lawn in front of the house whilst a live pianist played.

Dinner & Speeches in Balcombe Place’s Music Room.
Balcombe Place is a Grade II listed building beautifully renovate to keep that old mansion feel with a few modern touches. The Music Room was my favourite part of Balcombe Place – I loved the interior design and big windows that are allowed plenty of light to seep in. Dressed with flowers and personal finishing touches it was the perfect place to host the dinner and speeches where wine and laughter flowed!

Golden Hour Portraits at Balcombe Place.
After dinner and before the dancing started guests made their way back outside to enjoy the stunning sunset with cocktails and accompanied by a live jazz musician. As the evening began to kick in it felt like the estate came alive with vibrant gardens & golden sunsets, providing a stunning backdrop for some lovely documentary wedding photography of guests mingling and chatting as well as some gorgeous romantic wedding portraits of Megan & Brad.

–
Evening Celebrations.
Whether the evening is held in the elegant indoor spaces or under a marquee on the lawn, Balcombe Place provided a versatile setting for the evening party. Megan & Brad chose to have their first dance in the Music Room where the dinner and speeches had been. After cutting the cake everyone danced the night away to some live music.

Gem absolutely captured the feel of the wedding & the vibe perfectly, not only do we love our photos but we really enjoyed having Gem as part of our day. Photography was absolutely one of the most important aspects of the wedding for us. I knew straight away we had to have Gem as our photographer. We paid to fly her over to France & it was so worth it, we were speechless when we got our photos. They reflect how special the day was to us & we can’t stop looking at them & remembering all the moments from the day.
