A Winter London Engagement Shoot at St. Pauls Cathedral.

I am really excited to share Luke & Jess’ romantic London engagement shoot by the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral with you today. With its large scale doors and pillars, classic architecture and beautiful white carved stonework St. Pauls Cathedral is an elegant and sophisticated setting to choose. Jess & Luke also had one of their first dates on a roof top bar by St. Paul’s so this coupled with St. Paul’s grandeur and timeless beauty made it the perfect choice for their engagement shoot photography when we we were chatting through all the possible wonderful London engagement shoot locations.

I met Luke & Jess early on one Saturday morning, luckily despite it being a very rainy February it was dry on the day of the shoot, the streets were still quiet and the light was lovely and soft. We started on the steps of St Paul’s and made our way over to The Millennium Bridge to capture the timeless view of St Paul’s Cathedral in the background, and then headed back up to St. Pauls’ beautiful Reflection Garden for some photographs around the reflection pool that creates a stunning double view of St Paul’s dome as it’s mirrored in the water.

On the day we chatted and laughed and I focused on capturing candid moments of Luke & Jess being themselves. For the posed and intimate shots I gave some direction here and there but the goal of the shoot was to have a relaxed and natural walk through the city whilst creating some modern and romantic imagery that best reflected the couple’s love story. It was important to them to feel comfortable around me and my camera ahead of their wedding in Sicily in September this year. As a wedding photographer I aim to ensure that each image captures the essence of my couples connection as well as the beauty of the surrounding atmosphere. London served as the perfect backdrop for this lovely pre-wedding shoot.
